GiftYourGiftCard (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a platform that lets you donate unused prepaid gift card balances to registered charities. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Profile information: phone number and mailing address, if you choose to add them, for your own donation record-keeping.
- Donation information: the charity you select, the amount donated, and the date and status of each donation.
- Payment information: card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form and sent straight to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Communications: information you provide through our contact form or newsletter signup.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to process donations, maintain your account and donation history, calculate and credit loyalty points, respond to your requests, and send you a tax receipt when you request one. We do not sell your personal information.
Who We Share It With
- Stripe — processes your payment. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Pledge (pledge.to) — disburses your donation to the charity you select and, if requested, emails you an official tax receipt. Your name and email are shared with Pledge to complete this. See Pledge's privacy policy.
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
- Sentry collects technical error reports when something goes wrong on our website or in our app, so we can find and fix it. Reports include the error and the page or screen it happened on. Personal details are stripped out before a report is sent, and reports are never used for advertising. See Sentry's privacy policy.
Your mailing address, if provided, is kept for your own records only and is not sent to Pledge or to any charity.
Cookies
We use a session cookie, set by our authentication provider (Supabase), to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your Choices
You can view, edit, or delete your profile information at any time from your account page, unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any email we send, and control whether a tax receipt is emailed to you for each donation. To request deletion of your account entirely, contact us using the details below.
