These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of GiftYourGiftCard (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using our site, you agree to these Terms.
What We Do
GiftYourGiftCard lets you donate unused prepaid gift card balances to registered charities. We are a donation platform, not a charity ourselves — donations are processed by Stripe and disbursed to your chosen charity through Pledge (pledge.to), our donation processing partner.
Platform Fee
Each donation is split four ways: Stripe's payment-processing fee (2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction), Pledge's disbursement fee (5% of the amount the charity receives), GiftYourGiftCard's platform fee (also 5% of the amount the charity receives, the same rate as Pledge), and the remainder, which is sent to your chosen charity. See our fees page for the full breakdown with examples. This split is disclosed on the donation page before you confirm any charge, and on your donation summary afterward.
Eligibility
You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use GiftYourGiftCard, and you must have the right to use any payment card or gift card balance you donate.
Your Account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You can update your profile, email, and password at any time from your account page.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use stolen or fraudulently obtained payment methods, attempt to interfere with or abuse the platform, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Charitable Donations
Once a donation is disbursed to a charity, we have no control over and make no guarantee about how that charity uses the funds. Donations are generally non-refundable once disbursed — see our Refund Policy for details. Whether your donation is tax-deductible depends on the recipient organization's status; consult a tax advisor for guidance specific to your situation.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
GiftYourGiftCard is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including issues arising from third-party services we rely on (Stripe, Pledge, and Supabase).
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
